NiaPath was born from a journey of resilience, hope, and service. Inspired by the Swahili word "Nia" meaning purpose, and "Path" representing a journey forward, NiaPath reflects my belief that every person deserves compassionate healthcare and a clear pathway to healing. My mission is to help people maintain their mobility, dignity, and independence through preventive, patient-centered care delivered where they feel most comfortable.
NiaPath Mobile – Pathways to Healing

My journey began in Sierra Leone, West Africa. At the age of three, my family fled a devastating civil war and sought refuge in neighboring Gambia, where we lived in a refugee camp. Those early experiences taught me resilience, compassion, and the importance of caring for others.
On April 24, 1999, I arrived in Lansing, Michigan as a refugee. While adapting to a new country came with challenges, it also brought hope, opportunity, and a renewed sense of purpose. That journey would ultimately inspire my lifelong commitment to healthcare and service.
Throughout my nursing career, I have worked in assisted living communities, long-term care facilities, and home-based care settings. These experiences deepened my appreciation for older adults and reinforced my belief that every individual deserves dignity, independence, and a voice in their healthcare decisions.
In 2018, I returned to Sierra Leone and witnessed firsthand the impact that limited access to healthcare and health education can have on individuals and communities. That experience strengthened my passion for prevention, education, and improving access to care.
Inspired by these experiences, I founded NiaPath Mobile – Pathways to Healing. Through specialized foot care and early wound prevention services, my mission is to help seniors, homebound individuals, and those with limited mobility maintain their comfort, mobility, and independence through compassionate, patient-centered care.
Today, I am a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C), Certified Foot Care Specialist (CFCS), and hold a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). My clinical focus includes preventive foot care, diabetic foot health, skin integrity management, and early wound prevention. I believe healthcare is most effective when it is proactive, personalized, and centered on the unique needs of each patient.
"I believe every person deserves the dignity of health."
